Don MacLeod

Don MacLeod

General Manager

Don is an experienced managerial professional with strong commercial and retail lending, analytical and business skills enhanced through post-graduate qualifications (MBA) and extensive working experience in commercial enterprise. His business expertise is well balanced and includes senior lending and management roles at a major bank, general management of a multi-outlet finance business, ownership of a unique franchise operated bank and board of director work with two significant organisations in the not-for-profit sector. Don is currently a Director of Odonata Foundation (odonata.org.au) which is a focused on biodiversity and conservation solutions building resilient ecosystems around the country.

Previous Tasmanian board work was for 21 years in the Disability support sector. Don is a proud family man and has two adult daughters to keep him balanced and accountable. Don loves getting up to Tassie’s East Coast, but equally enjoys the quality lifestyle and amenities Hobart offers. “It’s a great place”.

Glenn Hancock

Glenn has been in the position of Credit Manager since starting in April 2000. In this role he has responsibility for the assessment and acceptance of loan applications for consumer & commercial loans, preparation of loan documentation, overseeing repayment activity.

Prior to working at Bennetto, he performed similar roles with Australian Guarantee Corporation Limited from 1992 to 2000 & Esanda Finance Corporation Limited from 1983 to 1992.
In his spare time, Glenn enjoys spending time with family and following the Sydney Swans.

Craig Bulis

After 27 years with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Craig commenced with Bennetto Finance Pty Ltd in January 2012.

With a strong lending background, developing relationships with a diverse client base, Craig provides a strong focus on customer experience. His organisation and management skills ensure prompt and professional service.

Any spare time is spent with family or watching replays of the mighty Richmond Tigers 2017 Premiership.

Paul has over 30 years of finance experience since joining Bennetto Finance Pty Ltd back in 1988. During Paul’s time at Bennetto, he has gained the necessary knowledge and skills in all areas of finance, developing a practical and painless approach to the needs of a wide range of customers from tradesman through to company directors.

Paul has been a Secretary and Treasurer for his local cricket club for many years and now spends his spare time gardening and following the mighty Hawks.

Paul has over 30 years’ experience in the banking and finance industry specialising predominantly in asset finance of motor vehicles and machinery.

Paul joined Bennetto in June 2018 after 10 years in the motor vehicle finance industry.

He continues to have a strong focus on customer satisfaction and has a good eye for detail!

In his spare time Paul enjoys driving his 1960’s Mini over the winding country roads or watching his beloved Hawks play.

Alicia started at Bennetto in 2002 after finishing year 12 at Rosny College.

Alicia is one of our Investment Registrars. Along with Sue Barwick, Alicia is
responsible for the day to day operations of the office and will usually be one of your first points of contact.

In her spare time Alicia is an avid reader and enjoys spending time with family.

Billy Kirkpatrick

Billy holds both a Diploma and Certificate IV in Financial Services, is a full member of the MFAA and was appointed a Justice of the Peace in 1998. He is also a SEQUAL accredited reverse mortgage consultant.

Billy has been a mortgage broker for 16 years, joining Bennetto Finance Pty Ltd in March 2012. Prior he ran his own retail business for 17 years and fully understands the difficulty self-employed borrowers often face when seeking finance. Billy started his working career at the Commonwealth Bank, where he worked for 10 years.

Whether you are a novice first home buyer, experienced property investor, complex commercial client or just seeking advice, Billy has the knowledge and expertise to ensure that the best possible outcome is achieved in every circumstance.

Billy enjoys spending his free time with family and friends and beach walks with his dogs.

Jacki Balmforth

Having worked in the health industry for 22 years, Jacki decided on a change of pace and joined Bennetto in 2012. Jacki holds a Diploma in Financial Services, a certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking) and assists Billy with documentation and any follow up actions necessary to make your loan process as smooth as possible.

When not at work, Jacki loves catching up with family and friends while juggling the commitments of her two children.

Richard Pears

Richard holds both a Diploma and Certificate IV in Financial Services and is a full member of the MFAA.

Richard has been in Banking and Finance for 38 years and is vastly experienced in Home and Investment Lending as well as Relationship Portfolio Management. He is the newest member of the Bennetto Team joining in August 2023.

Richard enjoys spending his free time with family, travelling, watching any sport, tinkering with vintage collectables and looking after his dogs Daizie & Elkie.

Katherine Fisher

After 40 years in the finance and insurance industries, Katherine commenced working with Bennetto Finance in November 2020.

Starting her career with ANZ, she worked in banking for 18 years before moving on one of the biggest insurers, IAG for another 18.

Katherine worked in another brokerage firm before moving to Bennetto Finance to assist Richard with loan submissions and all follow up actions required in the loan process.

In her spare time, she enjoys catching up with family and friends and has been known to partake in a bit of retail therapy!

Sue Barwick

Sue started at Bennetto in January of 2020 Having worked as a Practice Manager in The Health Industry for 30 years, Sue decided a change of pace was needed.

Sue is one of our Investment Registrars, along with Alicia, Sue is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the office and will usually be one of your first points of contact.

In her spare time Sue enjoys Gardening and spending time with her family.

Lucy joined us in 2022 after working in the health industry and was seeking a career with more growth opportunities. As a result, she is now studying to gain her Certificate IV in Finance and Mortgage Broking, with the hopes to move onto her Diploma in late 2023.

Lucy shares her time within the office by assisting Billy and Richard with their loan applications and helps Alicia and Sue on the day-to-day operations of the office.

Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time outdoors with her partner and catching up with family and friends.

We are located in the WOTSO Building at Level 1, 162 Macquarie Street, with great coffee from Boutique Espresso downstairs. Street parking is available or Centrepoint public car park nearby in Victoria Street.
